Types of Cleaning Machines and their areas of operation

Road Sweeping Machine Manufacturers

Over the past decade, the use of cleaning and sweeping equipment has evolved to a great extent. In the 90's, outdoor cleaning was not an integral part of overall cleaning and hygiene. Outdoor cleaning processes have evolved as a result of rapid development and industrialization, from manual to mechanized, mechanized to automated, and automated to robotic. People are not opting for outdoor cleaning machines as they are highly productive and efficient.

Types of Street Sweeping Technology

The types of cleaning machines vary depending on several factors such as the area of cleaning, the nature of cleaning, and the type of premises. Here is how you can select the type of equipment that is the right fit based on your requirements.

Sweepers: Floor sweepers are used to clean the outdoor area. These are generally meant to cover more distances than indoor scrubbers. Road sweepers are used to remove the dirt, dust, and debris that accumulates on the road and can be harmful in many ways. These sweepers are available in various sizes, from battery-powered machines which clean comparatively fewer areas like sidewalks, parking lots, and walkways, to truck-mounted sweepers which are manufactured to clean large areas like avenues, highways, etc. Sweepers are generally divided into two categories: walk-behind and ride-on sweepers.

Scrubbers: Floor scrubbers are generally of two types: walk-behind floor scrubbers and ride-on floor scrubbers. Walk-behind scrubbers are used to clean small, confined spaces like bathroom stalls, whereas ride-on scrubbers can clean thousands of square feet of indoor floor surfaces. It also works efficiently on hard floors.

Types of street sweeping machine

Ride on Sweepers

Ride on sweepers are different from other sweeping machines as in the ride on sweepers, the operator sits on/in the machine to operate the machine. The ride on sweepers provide a comfortable driving position to the operator which results in larger swept areas in a single go. These are designed to keep in mind the high productivity feature as when it comes to the outdoor cleaning, the areas can be huge and traditional methods of cleaning are not very efficient.

These Sweepers are motorised and hence based on the requirements like the area of cleaning, the amount of dirt and debris, you can opt for the one that suits your need.

Truck mounted sweepers

The name itself is self-explanatory. These are the sweeper machines in which the sweeper kit is mounted over the truck. These large sweeping machines are mostly used by municipal corporations, huge societies and townships, and large industries with wide and long roads to clean, etc.

The rugged build of these road sweepers makes them suitable to work in extreme and harsh conditions where traditional cleaning and sweeping methods cannot be used. Its speed is relatively better as well as compared to the ride-on street sweepers.

We understand that it can be difficult to determine the best type of cleaning equipment you need for your business, so our specialist knowledge can help you. We are happy to advise on different types of equipment for industrial cleaning, so please give us a call to find out what is best for you.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is sweeper equipment?

A sweeper machine, also known as sweeper equipment, is a mechanized cleaning device. The purpose of it is the same as the traditional cleaning devices, but it is manufactured to sweep mostly large areas like industries, roads, parking lots, etc. where traditional sweeping methods are not efficient and successful.

How does a sweeper truck work?

When the sweeping work is done by a sweeper truck, there are three processes that take place simultaneously: that is, carrying the dust into the truck, loosening the debris on the street, and spraying water. The negative pressure that is generated under the truck carries the dirt and debris into the truck’s receptacle. The filtered air is then aimed at the debris to loosen it. The water sprayer in the rear helps prevent dust clouds.

How fast does a street sweeper go?

Generally, the ride-on sweepers that clean a moderate amount of debris operate at a speed of 10 to 15 km/h. This speed may vary based on the manufacturers and brands. Also, when picking up heavier debris, the speed of the sweeper machines is reduced. Based on the trials and feedback from clients, our sweepers operate at around 15 km/h.
